Walking to the Shops Talking AI

So this is another test of my new little microcast setup, which is not exactly functioning as I want.

So, yeah, one of the things is to not become self-conscious of talking to yourself while walking on the street, but that’s been impossible.

So what I’m trying to do is use wavelength to record my microcast, but the problem is if you shut your phone to sleep, it stops taking the audio, so that’s a bit frustrating.

I’ve also decided let’s try and limit the time duration to the fact that I’m going to just walk down the road, and also I’ve turned on transparency mode so I don’t feel like I’m shouting as I’m walking at 20 to 10 at night in Southampton.

So this is a bit more of a test, but what I’ve mainly been doing today, this afternoon, is I’ve listened to a really cool podcast called Oxide and something, I’m not going to change that on my phone because I’m just worried it’s going to disconnect, but I’ll link it in my blog.

My main blog, discursiveguide.co.uk, basically talks about using chat2pt and large language models and did a bunch of stuff, which I’ve done.

My main issue with that technology is they’re not actually ethics of it so much anymore, although that is important, but actually environmental damage using the cloud version of these things causes, and also the fact that the access to them is also limited.

So you’ve got this digital poverty issue coupled with this environmental issue.

So you have some of the wealthiest people having access to some of the most damaging technology going, roughly.

So on the podcast I talked about using this RAG, which is a way of writing a little bit of scripting, AR you want to call it that, to work with a large language model to interrogate a corpus of documents.

So it could be your blog or whatever.

So yeah, I spent most of this afternoon doing that.

Chat2pt did have to help me write some code.

And yeah, I’m going to link to all of it in my blog.

But yeah, I don’t think I can actually do podcasting while walking down the street because there’s just too many people and it’s just a bit weird talking to yourself about technology.

Anyway, hopefully that’s worked and I’ll upload it.

I’ve turned off the AI audio stuff so I don’t know how this is going to work with transparency mode and being outside walking.

Again, for that same environmental reason, I don’t want to be running AI in the cloud to clean up audio unnecessarily.

So yeah, there we go.
